Chris Cruickshank
Is a self-taught artist who began painting in 2005 using watercolour paints. She got book out of the local library and started to paint. Later she changed her medium to Acrylic paints and then she joined the NZ Art Guild (now defunct) in 2007. During her years with the NZ Art Guild she was inspired by the online challenges and got intrigued with using mixed media and texture.
The NZ Art Guild had an Annual Members Exhibition at the Bruce Mason Centre on the Auckland North Shore each year. This was the first Exhibition she attended apart from in her own Gallery, Magpie Gallery in Leigh where she had several exhibitions.
She mainly paints landscapes and seascapes, she lives on the coast and this gives her inspiration.
